Welcome to the website for the graduate studies program in Physics at the University of Toronto. The Department of Physics offers a full program of courses and research leading to the M. Sc. and Ph. D. Degrees. We have internationally leading research teams, in both theory and experiment, operating across a broad spectrum of topics: particle physics, quantum optics, geophysics, atmospheric physics, condensed matter physics, biological physics, cosmology and string theory, as well as collaborative programs in interdisciplinary subjects.
If you are considering applying to do a graduate degree in the Department of Physics, then I encourage you to explore the Department website to learn about the research being conducted here. Following that, look at the overview of our graduate program, and more detailed descriptions of financial support, application procedures, graduate courses, and other information that will be of interest to you. Still more detailed information is available in our Graduate Student Handbook.
Choosing a graduate school is an important decision, and we are happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact the Graduate Office or, even better, visit us in person.
